Event Information

We are days away from the Jack Axe Games, in which we’re very excited and working to provide you a course that is Jack Axe worthy.  I wanted to take a moment to pass on some specific details so that you may be better prepared for the day in its entirety.

The entrance that we will be using is the entrance off of Rt. 38 at the Kane County Fairgrounds, not Randall Road and not Oak Street, just the Rt. 38 entrance.  This entrance is 1/10 of a mile west of the intersection of Randall Road and Rt. 38.

There is no cost for competitors to park or to enter the festival, please bring your registration with you to make things smoother when you are entering.

For people that are coming as Spectators or to enjoy the Festival, the cost is $20 per car, which includes parking, so pack them in.

If you didn't know, we are having a benefit concert supporting Operation Warrior Wishes a local 501c(3) non-profit company that helps out veterans across the country by providing them extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime experiences. All of the proceeds are going to Operation Warrior Wishes to help them further their great efforts. To purchase tickets for the concert, you may pre-buy them online at http://www.jackaxe.com/benefit-concert/ or pay at the door. The cost to enter the concert is $25 per ticket and you will be able to see 7 phenomenal acts throughout the day/night. Nickelodean's Hit TV Show Drake & Josh's own, Drake Bell, will be headlining the concert.

First let’s talk about the Elite Axe Wave and the money.

The Elite Axe wave are the ones running the course for the money, the standards are Jack Axe.  For the women, we will be using the 12’ caber and for the men it will be our standard 16’ caber.

The Log of Woe, as it has been affectionately called, is in effect for the following obstacles.

  • Caber Toss
  • Axe Throw
  • Stone Throw
  • The Stump
  •  Ball Toss

You will have 3 opportunities to complete the obstacle, if you don’t complete the obstacle, to the log you must go.  You must jump over the log      landing 2 feet on either side 15 times before proceeding to the next obstacle.

For the 3 fastest times for the men, women and teams, you will receive an invite to the finale.  This will be an abbreviated course including Axe Throw, Caber Toss, Log Pull and Haul, and Cross Cut.  In this head to head to head finale, the Champion will be determined and prize money awarded to the competitor who finishes this course first.

The Average Jack wave are for those looking to tackle a challenging course and enjoy the day.  For some of the obstacles, we will scale them to ones capabilities. We know this course will be a challenge but we are looking to make sure you are getting the most out of this experience.

If you are looking to get into the prize money consideration, you need to move into the Elite Axe waves,  We can change your registration to reflect that, we just need to know to plan for that and get you into the rotation for the Elites.

Teams are an open class, there is no restrictions, the top three teams will be invited to the Finale and like the finals for the individuals, there will be an abbreviated course and the first team finished will be declared the Champions and prize money awarded.
